Indian Medical Association
Indian Medical Association is the only representative, national voluntary organisation of Doctors of Modern Scientific System of Medicine, which looks after the interest of doctors as well as the well being of the community at large.
Today, I.M.A. is a well established organisation with it's Headquarters at Delhi and State / Terr. Branches in 29 States and Union Territories. It has over 2,15,000 doctors as its members through more than 1650 active local branches spread all over the country.
About IMA Bhandara
IMA HALL was inaugurated by Hon.Shri Praful Patel,(Min.of Civil Aviation) on 1st July 2007. This hall was constructed with the help of all IMA members, donations from all section of the society and various organisation's help.
IMA Bhandara is among the oldest branches in the maharashtra.
Branch was registered with the charity commission & the land for the hall was purchased under
the leadership of Senior IMA members Dr. Gawali, Dr. Bharat Lanjewar, Dr Meghre,
Dr. Dr. L. D. Girhepunje, Dr. Shripad, Dr. Rahangdale, Dr. Bawankar, Dr. Brahmankar,
Dr. Gupta & other committee members.
Buiding committee members who actively work hard for this construction were Dr. Madhukar
Dhargave (President Building Committee), Dr. Arun Kumbhare(President IMA), Dr. Pradeep Kukde
(Secretary IMA), Dr. Vasudha Athavale, Dr. Vivek Patki, Dr. Yogesh Choulera, Dr. Ravindra Tamne
and all other IMA committee members.
Bhandara branch has the pride of having doyen members like Dr. L. D. Girhepunje, Dr. Wyavhare,
Dr. D. U.Turaskar, Dr. S. P. Joshi, Dr.C.M.Gupta,Dr.Kulkarni. These senior members stood as a
main pillar of the IMA Bhandara branch.
Branch always stands with central & state IMA against NMC Bill, Crosspathy, Bogus doctors,
Exit exam and many more agitations.
Purpose
IMA Bhandara was registered for the following purpose :
To educate the people of urban and rural communities for good health, health education and hygiene.
To educate & update medical & paramedical people about new advances in the medical field.
To follow Govt programs regarding health.
To conduct health camps for society specially senior citizens.
To do various cultural activities for medical community and various other activities.
School health checkup of all boys and girls periodically under Mission Pink Health
Participation in Pulse Polio mission
To do regular CME in all speciality for all IMA members to update their knowledge.
To participate in various Govt programs regarding health and health education.
